The city of Courbevoie, which has been recognized with several “Fleur d’Or” awards from the CNVVF, is implementing an environmental policy that promotes harmony between nature and urban development. This strategy is based on concrete initiatives aimed at enhancing urban biodiversity and providing recreational spaces for its residents.
Among the flagship projects, the Butterfly Garden stands out as a true meadow that promotes pollination. Certified as an “Eco-Garden,” it serves as an educational space to raise public awareness about the importance of biodiversity. The garden is complemented by features such as insect hotels and special areas for bird nesting.
The eco-friendly management of green spaces in Courbevoie, which began well before any legal requirements were in place, includes phasing out the use of pesticides and selecting hardy plants suited to the local climate.
So it was only natural that the CNVVF chose Courbevoie for its pop-up garden project, which visitors can explore at the “Jardins, Jardin!” fair.
Driven by a shared desire to highlight the expertise of parks and recreation teams, as well as the actions taken by cities to combat global warming, the CNVVF and the city of Courbevoie collaborated to create a pop-up garden at the Jardins, Jardin fair, thereby demonstrating the positive and tangible impact of green urban planning on our environment.
