The CNVVF’s “4 Flowers” designation is awarded by a national panel of judges, whose inspection tours began several weeks ago. However, for the “1- to 3-flower” designations, departmental and regional panels of judges visit the municipalities and prepare detailed reports.
For the Hauts-de-France region, Coralie De Wit, Project Manager Villes et Villages Fleuris Hauts-de-France Tourisme, expertly leads these tours. She guided the France Télévisions crew during an evaluation and explained to them on camera the role that green spaces play in reducing residents’ stress. A recent study by King’s College London demonstrates the benefits of biodiversity in green spaces for both physical and mental health.
