By drawing on the sharing of experiences and awareness-raising efforts by local elected officials, the goal is to enhance the consistency and effectiveness of sustainable development policies at the national level.

The Departments form the foundation of our program, within which they play a fundamental role. They raise awareness, identify, and support municipalities ready to commit to sustainable land-use planning and landscape enhancement initiatives.
Their technical support enables local governments to incorporate greening and environmental management into their public policies.
The “Département Fleuri” label recognizes this commitment by honoring the departments most actively involved in promoting the Villes et Villages Fleuris label at the local level, thereby highlighting their contribution to the sustainable improvement of quality of life.
